Balanced
We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives (intellectual, physical, and emotional). We recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.
As you know, the fundamental objective of the International Baccalaureate programmes is to form internationally minded people who contribute to creating a better world by striving for our learning community to have certain important attributes such as being balanced.
Our students tell us what this important attribute means to them and how they work with it every day in the classroom.
‘It is an attribute that teaches and supports you to make decisions without letting yourself be guided by impulses and feelings, that you think before acting, to know what is best for you and for everyone. Within the classes, we always have teamwork where situations arise in which we must make decisions, whether for a project, or teamwork, etc’.

‘The school, among its many virtues, encourages and imparts different types of activities that help us to distinguish these aspects in order, in this way, to discover and explore new horizons and ways of appreciating life. Being a person who seeks to be aware of the different aspects of the human being and seek a balance between them’.
Santiago | Ninth grade
‘With the different school assignments and the dates that we must meet, we stay organized and it is a way of recognizing that you must do and need to complete during the day along with sports, hobbies, etc’.
Tabatha | Ninth grade
‘Several examples in which it helps me to be balanced are maintaining an order in the different things I do, for example in my sport, at school, in my social life and in my physical and mental health. School activities help me to develop this attribute since it helps me to maintain organization in all the things I do, from entering classes, doing work and being able to deliver them in a timely manner’.
